“Lotos” began its journey in 1988 in Sougia, a charming fishing village in South Chania. Nikos Basias, a physics teacher with a passion for music and expertly crafted cocktails, opened a small café in a private space. His goal was simple: to create a fun and vibrant place to enjoy summer holidays with friends. From the very beginning, Lotos Café captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike, quickly becoming a beloved gathering spot known for its high-quality offerings.

Nikos's talents extend beyond hospitality. As an award-winning photographer with numerous international accolades, he brings a unique artistic vision to everything he does. His extensive travels and experiences have given him a taste for the best, inspiring him to create a space that combines affordability with luxury.

In 1993, Nikos expanded his venture by opening the “Lotos Seaside Hotel”, a welcoming retreat for travelers seeking comfortable and stylish accommodations located right by the sea in Sougia. The hotel continues the tradition of quality and hospitality that began with the café, providing guests with a delightful seaside experience.

Building on this legacy of success, Lotos has further evolved with the introduction of “Lotos Luxury Apartments” in Chania. These apartments continue the tradition of excellence, providing guests with an exceptional experience in the middle of the green, in the most beautiful suburb of Chania town.
