I am Nikos Basias, the founder of LOTOS Group, a company that reflects my diverse passions and interests. I was born in Athens to parents from Crete, and my academic journey led me to study Physics at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. My early career was deeply rooted in education, where I provided private lessons in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry to middle and high school students. Additionally, I worked within the public education sector.
Journey in Education and Tourism
Since 1988, I have balanced my career in education with a growing involvement in the tourism industry. This dual engagement allowed me to merge my scientific background with my entrepreneurial spirit, enriching my professional and personal life.
Passion for Travel and Photography
Travel has always been a significant passion of mine, which I seamlessly combine with photography. My work in photography has been recognized with numerous awards in international competitions and exhibitions. This hobby not only brings me joy but also inspiration, which has been a driving force behind the establishment of LOTOS Group.
Crafting Experiences
In addition to my love for photography and travel, I enjoy crafting beautiful cocktails and staying in the most exquisite places. These experiences have greatly influenced the ethos and offerings of LOTOS Group, focusing on creating unique and memorable experiences for our clients.
Transition and Legacy
Recently, I made the decision to step back from my teaching career to devote more time to my passions for photography, travel, and tourism. I am proud to have handed over the management roles of LOTOS Group to my daughters, Evangelia and Irene. They now lead the company with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, while I continue to support them discreetly with my experience and guidance.
