For a nice walk in Chania, Lotos Old Town Apartments highly suggests the enchanting Municipal Garden, also known as “Kipos” and the iconic Tower Clock, or “Roloi.”

Both located in the heart of the city, between Andrea Papandreou and Tzanakaki Street. These charming attractions offer a tranquil and picturesque experience.

With its establishment in 1870 by philhellene Reouf Pasa, this beautiful green space was meticulously curated with various evergreens and trees, following European standards.

Within the Municipal Garden lies a cafe of historic significance. Dating back to 1870, the original cafe boasted elegant pergolas and columns, complete with a charming harp-shaped end. In 1936 was built the current café, it has recently been renovated and is functioning normally.

Adding to the Garden’s allure, a charming outdoor cinema is tucked away in one corner, showcasing top-rated films each summer.

And if that wasn’t enough, the iconic Chania Clock Tower, or “To Roloi,” stands proudly in the northeastern corner of the Garden. This impressive structure, designed by esteemed local engineer D. Kollaris, was meticulously built between 1924 and 1927.
